“Love is forever, or at least until it starts
feeling like FOREVER.” That became
Rick’s favorite quote because he didn’t know how else to justify our drifting
apart romantically. My mother said that
regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion
fades and there had better be something else to take its place. What she didn’t know is that we were the
opposites, just friend’s faking it.
–There was nothing exciting about it.
Plus, I say young love is doomed from the start, but sometimes I’m
overly cynical. The truth probably
lied in our differences. |

We are proof you can stay close friends afterwards,
especially when his next conquest advanced him toward my best friend,
Julie. Jovial Julie Elizabeth is the
sweetest, petite type, the kind whose cheerfulness lingers so much her cheeks
rest in a permanent smile position, yet she doesn’t gag you with giddiness. Note her in the middle with the dyed brown
hair. (She’s always dying her hair
some color, long before it became a usual trend.) Let me erase your natural assumptions that I have some jealous
sentiments toward Julie and Rick; the fact is it was I who set them up
initially. She’s such a cutie, and
they have so much more in common in the guy-girl scheme. It gives hope even to my cynical side. |
